Feature magazine illustrations for the University of Michigan's College of Literature, Science and the Arts' alumni magazine and online content.
The work for this piece was centered around an LSA Alumni magazine article based on the life and work of one of LSA's Distinguished Faculty Fellows who in her journalistic work had exposed the KGB, taken on torturers and Putin. A lot of research was involved in creating this piece to give it authenticity and a personal feel. Photos of Yevgenia were used along with images of her own notes and scraps from her office. The color palette and imagery immediately invoke the time period of the article and of Russia–where the majority of the article takes place. This piece was heavily inspired by Russian Constructivism and graphic design with the creation of the analog collages, implementation of blocks of color, and setting the text of the article on slants.
